Live Blue Square Bet Premier Preview - Luton Town v Grimsby Town by Alan Alger from Blue Square

Live Blue Square Bet Premier Preview - Luton Town v Grimsby Town by Alan Alger from Blue Square

Luton Town were the scourge of accumulator punters at the weekend as they failed to land odds of 1/4 at home to Gateshead. The Hatters fell two behind early on before battling back to be drawing at half-time, they then failed to break down ten-men in the second half after the away side had captain Ben Clark dismissed. Town have a third consecutive home game on Tuesday evening as Grimsby Town are the visitors to Kenilworth Road. The Premier Sports cameras will be in attendance to capture what is the reverse of their opening game of their Blue Square Bet Premier coverage. That match at Blundell Park back in September ended in a 2-0 win for the Mariners. The victory put Neil Woods' side fourth in the early table with Luton back in seventh. Six places now separate the teams with Luton climbing to third spot while Grimsby have slipped to ninth - 12 points behind Richard Money's team. Grimsby also drew on Saturday as they held title favourites Crawley Town to earn a point in a goalless game.

Luton are the odds-on favourites to win this one at 4/6, the draw is priced at 5/2 and an away success offered at 7/2. Grimsby have won just four of their 13 away games in the league this season, including an opening day victory at Crawley. Two of those wins were registered at Hayes & Yeading and Histon, so it's fair to say that on balance their form on the road is average - as tenth place in the away form table suggests. One thing they have managed to do away from home is score goals, they have found the net an average of 1.62 times per game - which can only be bettered by Mansfield and Crawley. Luton top the table for goals scored at home and they average exactly 2 per game. On those statistics the viewers could expect to see plenty of goalmouth action here. Blue Square are offering 7/4 for ‘over 3.5' goals in the game. Luton have scored in every one of their home games so far this season and any correct score bet should factor in that stat. A 2-1 home win looks a decent bet in that market at 7/1.

Luton bring an eight game unbeaten streak into this match, whilst Grimsby have already lost twice in the league since the beginning of this year. Both of those were away games in which they failed to score. Luton to win without conceding in this fixture is priced at 11/5 on the Blue Square special markets. The home crowd will be hoping that this isn't their last chance to see playmaker Andy Drury in a Town shirt, he is 8/1 to score the first goal in the game. The former Stevenage star hoping to shake off a knock which kept him out of the Gateshead clash. Richard Money does have an abundance of attacking talent at his disposal and eleven of his potential squad feature at 8/1 or shorter on this market. Of course not all of them will play, but the best hope of not having your money refunded is to go for one of the more likely starters. Lloyd Owusu made a goalscoring debut last midweek and although he couldn't follow up on Saturday, he could be a worthwhile bet to break the deadlock at 5/1. Grimsby have the prolific Alan Connell in their ranks and 15/2 looks a generous quote for a player who has 16 goals already in the division, especially as each-way bets are paid on any goal in the game.
