THE TEAM Builder committee hope that you will be able to attend a very special night in the Club House here at The Lamb on Friday 18th March...
The occasion promises to be something very special when you will have the opportunity to reminisce about the past.
There are some occasions that, if you are a Tamworth FC fan, you just have to attend and this is one of them.
The Club House will be open from 7.00pm and we hope that you will come and meet four legends from the history of our club. You will not be disappointed!
The first of our legends is Warren Haughton - one half of the 'H-Bombers' . A prolific goalscorer who tormented defences for just over three years wearing the famous No 10 shirt.
He joined the club from Sutton near the end of the 1997/98 season but it was the following three years that saw his partnership with Mark Hallam flourish.
In those three years Warren played 140 games and scored 69 goals. The duo was almost unstoppable and many fans will still have memories of the goals they scored.
They were a real match for each other – Mark the tall, strong and fearless centre forward who upset defences whist Warren was the slim, slightly built striker who pounced on the loose ball in a flash and had that uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time.
In 2000 he, along with Mark Hallam, received the bronze predator award for being one half of the best strike force in non-League football.
Warren has built a career in the media world since he left football and is now a writer, reporter, correspondent and producer for TalkSport.
A familiar voice on TalkSport, Warren has interviewed famous sports personalities from all over the globe and from all types of sports.
Don’t miss the opportunity to meet Warren and three more legends at the Lamb on Friday 18th March as part of Team Builder's commitment to supporting the club and fans – see you there!
Next week we will reveal the second of our four legends – keep watching this space...
