Concannon enjoying life at The Lamb!

Birmingham City loanee Jack Concannon caught up with Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald this week to look back on his first month as a Lamb. “I’ve had my first month,” he said. “I have extended it now until the middle of February. I have enjoyed my time here and want to keep pushing on now. Hopefully, in the next few games, we can start getting some positive results.”

The midfielder was delighted to get on the score-sheet on Saturday. “I turned 19 today (Saturday) so it’s nice to get a man-of-the match and a goal on my birthday,” he said. “It’s a nice present for me. I went close with another one as well. I thought it had gone in but the keeper has saved it. I was disappointed not to get a brace but I will take the one.”

Concannon says the players have enjoyed working with Gary Smith in training since he took over the caretaker reins before Saturday. “It’s been good,” said Concannon. “We have been training really hard, Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are doing a lot of work on how we want to play, plus off the ball work, pressing high, trying to force the opposition into mistakes so we can get as much of the ball as possible. Gary’s come in to take training and everyone wants to impress him. We just need to start delivering results now. That’s what we are focusing on,” he added.
