Focus on League Fixtures before big FA Cup tie

Friday Oct 11, 2019

Following on from two fantastic performances against Hereford in the FA Cup, attention turns back to the league.

Tamworth produced two great performances this week against Hereford from the league above and showed poise and composure in the penalty shootout to set up a home tie against Darlington in the 4th round qualifying of the FA Cup. This tie is a week on Saturday at The CR MOT Centre Community Stadium. For excitement like the penalties on Tuesday have a look at thecasinodb.com for great offers on new betting sites.

In the meantime the team cannot let this welcomed distraction and financial opportunity get in the way of the main objective this season, which is promotion. They will not want to let a strong start and good position in the league slip. Before the glamorous FA Cup tie, there are two important league fixtures.

On Saturday afternoon the team travel to Biggleswade Town. Our opponents sit 7th in the league, only 2 points and 4 places behind The Lambs. This means a victory for the home team would see them jump over Tamworth in the league. Their league form is good with 4 wins and a draw in their last 5 games, the best in the division, with Tamworth 2nd in that form table! This points towards a great close game with both teams in form, with the bookies having Tamworth slight favourites at 6/5, the home team 13/8 and the draw 13/5. Tamworth will hope there is no reaction from the long trip and extra time on Tuesday but have a good squad to cover this.

On Tuesday, Rushden and Diamonds are the visitors to The Lamb. Their form is not great with only 4 points from their last 5 games (4 draws and a defeat) but they will be looking to put that right at home to Coalville on Saturday before making the trip to Tamworth in the week.

Tamworth will aim to keep the winning momentum going over the next week and management will be certain to not let the team take their eye off the league with the big cup tie pending. They have assembled a good squad and will need everyone to get through the next week or so with hopefully three victories.
