Big Week ahead on two fronts for The Lambs

Monday Sep 16, 2019

The Lambs look to continue their great form in the league on Tuesday before attention turns to the FA Cup.

Tamworth have a quick turnaround following their great win over Redditch at the weekend with a BetVictor Southern Central Premier league games this midweek (Tuesday evening) and they will need to concentrate on this, despite having important FA Cup match at the weekend. The league is the important competition as the chance of realistically lifting the FA Cup in May is almost nil! However the financial implications of a cup run could end up being more important than promotion this season. Although the purse for winning this weekend’s cup round does not seem massive (£6750) in footballing terms, it does make a difference for teams at Tamworth’s level. Winning a couple of rounds in the cup is like taking advantage of best online betting sites offers! Continuing in the cup with bigger and bigger win bonuses and TV money once the first round is reached, could give a team the financial stability for the next five years. Burton Albion did this with two ties against Manchester United a few years ago when in the Non-League and they turned that money into a fantastic stadium and then sustained it with promotions all the way up to the Championship. It is a difficult balancing act as the main goal for the season is promotion up to the Conference North, but maybe a cup run running along side could help this. Hopefully the Lambs squad can cope on both fronts!

So Tamworth will obviously have one eye on their weekend cup trip to Loughborough, however they do need to do the business against Barwell on Tuesday evening to keep their impressive form going and push up the table. Tamworth are on a great run of 4 wins on the trot, scoring three goals in each of those games. One of those was a convincing 3-0 victory over Tuesday’s opponents Barwell last midweek in the Southern Cup. The Lambs are looking confident and recently have hit the ground running and scored goals early when on top.

Barwell are also in decent form, despite losing at Tamworth last week. They won in the FA Cup against AFC Mansfield and have won their last two league games. They will be looking for revenge for last week and a win would put them level with Tamworth in the league on 13 points. Barwell are in the same position as Tamworth with a FA cup tie on Saturday at Hednesford which could provide a distraction. For Barwell, winning that tie would be similar to winning on toponlinecasinos.co.za as the financial rewards would be significant for a club that size.

Last season in our final away game, Tamworth managed a 1-0 away victory at Barwell and the teams shared the spoils with a 3-3 draw at the CR MOT Centre Stadium back in January.
