DANNY  Newton says his return to the Lambs side after injury feels like a huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders...

Newton made a ten minute cameo in the 1-0 defeat at Alfreton on Saturday, having been out of action for two months with ankle ligament damage.

“It feels great to be back out on the pitch,” he said. “It feels like a huge weight off my shoulders.

“I have been desperate to return to action – it’s the longest time I have been out through injury since I have been playing.

“The physio [Kieren Berry] has worked really hard with me and has got me back quicker than I expected.

“I just really enjoyed being back out there, running around. I felt full of energy and I came off feeling good.

“The ankle held up well so hopefully I can carry it on now and I can quickly get back to how I as playing prior to the injury.”
