Lambs retain Aspinall Vase

While the majority of the first team were going through their paces in Gloucestershire - working on their fitness and training - a younger Tamworth side, under the guidance of Youth Team boss Ian Wilson, ensured The Lambs retained the Aspinall Vase at Rene Road.

Hat-trick hero Jordan Foster bagged three well taken close range strikes in the first half and a deceptive 30 yard free kick from Simon Hollis made it 4-0 at the break.

Scott Stamps gave everyone a scare, going down holding his knee just before the break, but played on before coming off on 75 minutes.

Hollis added another to his tally with a penalty on 55 minutes after Jamal Pinnock had been brought down in the area and Koshovy Sergiy almost made it six, but lobbed the keeper and hit the cross bar following a flowing move.

Swifts spurned a number of good chances throughout the game with poor finishing but pulled one back through an Ashley Warrilow header from a corner as consolation.
