Honours even at Eton Park
01 February 2005 Bob Taylor produced a spectacular second half strike to give the Lambs a share of the points in the Staffordshire derby. Burton took the lead after just 4 minutes through Chris Hall in a half that they dominated with Tamworth looking for a chance on the break. The ball came in from the right and the Lambs defence failed to clear. Hall pounced and his shot went in past the right-hand upright. The second half, by contrast was dominated by Tamworth with Burton on the back foot looking for a lucky break, although the Lambs goal came from nowhere. Bob Taylor picked the ball up 18 yards out on the right of the field and cracked in a spectacular effort past a despairing Dan Crane.
Mark Cooper's free kick curled around the wall on 71 minutes, hit the base of the right hand upright ran and accross the face of goal before being cleared. And at the death, it took a last ditch tackle from Dave Bampton and Matt Redmile to deny Dale Anderson a goal scoring chance. Neal Robinson, Bampton (Nick Smith 85), Redmile, Simpson, Adie Smith, Storer (Sheppard 68), Cooper, Stamps Taylor, Rawle. Subs Not Used: Price, Francis, Whitman. Booked: Taylor.
