15 September 2012 A brace of goals either side of half-time saw Tamworth secure victory over 10-man Gateshead. Striker Adam Cunnington opened the scoring by converting a penalty in the 36th minute, awarded when he was brought down by Gateshead's Ben Clark.
The Lambs extended their lead when Tom Marshall headed in a Peter Till corner from the right in the 51st minute. Gateshead's were then reduced to ten men when substitute James Marwood was dismissed for a professional foul on Richard Tait.
