A tougher test brings another win
15 July 2014 Dale Belford fielded 9 signed players in the first half against newly formed Hinckley AFC at St. John's Park where The Lambs had defeated Hinckley's landlords at the weekend. Tamworth were given a sterner test by their tennant-hosts and there was some good movement in the final third as both sidestried to open the scoring, but it took a 6 yard finish from Shane Clarke following a disputed corner on 40 to give the visitors the half time lead.
Belford made four changes at the break and the same level of urgency and hunger was evident with Hibbert looking to add to his pre-season tally with a number purposeful shots or forays forward, helped in no end by a persistant team around him. Wholesale changes came with just Hibbert and 'a.n.other' remaining from the previous 75 minutes and only Hibbert finished the game which saw a second goal ensure the win when '19' headed home powerfully from a corner in the final throws of a thoroughly enjoyable match. Tamworth Team: Belshaw *, Green, x*, Townsend, Preston, Clarke, Taylor, Hildreth*, Hibbert, x*, Sleath x = unsigned player * HT subs - Smith, James, Adams, x Further subs not signed so not named. Hinckley FC Team: Hinckley fielded two complete sides, one in each half. Attendance: 215 Man of the Match: Mr. M. Scriven
