A right Royal defeat
02 October 2012 After playing a friendly involving first teamers returning to fitness and reserve players at Cambridge in the morning of this game, The Lambs sent a very young and inexperienced side to Coles Lane to face a hungry Sutton side who romped home worthy winners on their artificial pitch. Lee Parsons opened the scoring with a header from a corner on 17 minutes (0-1) A flurry of attacks from The Lambs then came but failed to bring any reward and Matt Gardner headed home a corner from the opposite side on 38 to make it 0-2. It was 0-3 just before the break when Reece Leek fired low past Will Stannage but Conor Wright gave the visitors hope less than a minute later with a fine finish from the edge of the box. (1-3)
Luke Chapman flicked a freekick into the path of Kristian Ramsey-Dickson and he rifled home from the right of the box on 67 (1-4) and with 8 minutes remaining Carlos Thompson's header from a corner rounded off a good win for the home side.
