On the back of an unbeaten start to the campaign, The Lambs arrived at Wetherby Road the home of Harrogate Town for matchday 5. Town, under the managership of former Tamworth defender Simon Weaver, had won their last three games having lost their opening fixture so it was fifth v fourth as former Lambs Brendon Daniels and Lloyd Kerry lined up for the home side.
Tamworth got the game underway , kicking towards the Town end of the ground, but it was an early freekick from Daniels that caused problems when it whipped into the box and was headed just wide of the mark.
The offside flag denied a good through ball for the home side on 5 but the referee overruled and awarded the freekick the other way, setting Daniels up with a dead ball from 35 yards out which he whipped past the right hand upright.
Belshaw made a smart stop at the near post from a driven shot from Turner on the right wing on 12 when his low shot took a deflection back to the keeper.
Durrell received the ball from Strong on 15 and struck from 18 yards but it was easy for Crook to smother in the home goal. A long throw from the right saw Clayton drop under a challenge and the ball get headed behind for a corner on the opposite side but Daniels flag kick made its way back to Belshaw.
Curtis dragged the ball back for Clarke to strike on the edge of the area on 20 but the shot was blocked and the ball popped up for Newton to head at goal, but Crook saved it.
A foul by Tomassen on the right set up Daniels with another freekick on 22and it was flicked behind for a corner on the left which whipped through the crowded box and out for a throw.
On 28 Durrell curled the ball superbly to Dyer past the far post and the striker got his boot around it and dragged it back but it was cleared away. Dyer, in the meantime, required treatment off the field.
Taylor spotted an opening on 30 and shot for goal from distance, but Crook was equal to it. Dyer couldn’t continue and Hubbins came on, on 33.
Durrell tried his luck from 34 with a looping effort from the left channel but it flew over the target. Dyer left pitchside with his right arm heavily strapped on 36.

A foul on Taylor on the right wing on 44 set up Durrell with the freekick but it went out for a corner on the far side and then the ball in was just too long.
2 minutes added time were shown at the end of the first half.
Harrogate got the game back underway with The Lambs kicking downhill and both sides worked the ball into the danger areas early on. Daniels had the most direct chance but lifted his half volley high over the target and out of the ground.
A Durrell freekick found Clarke at the far post on 54 but the ball was cleared and Tomassen’s return shot come cross from the right wing didn’t trouble Crook at all.
Knowles forced his way through the back line to get a low shot away on 57 which Belshaw and Burns scrambled to clear and the heaven’s opened on a bright and sunny Wetherby Road.
Strong made a powerful run down the left and Newton picked up the ball from his efforts but was adjudged to have fouled as he tried to turn the ball goalward on the hour.
At the other end, Burns headed away from danger when sub Swain sent a teasing cross to the far post. Newton fired in the side netting from the left of the box on 66 and Taylor tried to curl the ball into the far corner on 68 but Crook took it low at the base of the post.
A Hubbins header from 6 yards was pushed away by Crook with a great one handed stop on 73 to keep the scoreline at 0-0.
Clarke nearly broke the deadlock at the end of a flowing move on 78 but Crook denied him with a low stop, pushing the ball around the post for a corner.
Kerry clipped the bar with a right wing cross that evaded the attentions of everyone on 82 and Belshaw denied Nyoni on 85 with a brave stop at the players feet.
Morrell brought himself into the fray for the final few minutes, replacing Taylor on 86. Three minutes added time were shown at the end of the game and Swain shot went just wide of the near post via a deflection with Belshaw already diving the right way.
