Rangers take first bite of roast Lambs

Newton had a shot parried on 6 and Dyer followed up but couldn't hit the back of the net.
Belshaw was instrumental in a strong defensive back line and this lead to another attack on 11 when Newton turn on the ball and saw his shot parried away.

There was a drinks break on 22 to aleviate the effects of the heat and on 25 Belshaw was forced into a save at his right hand post.
A left sided corner was met by Tomassen and then Newton watched his header on 33 come back off the bar.
Clarke's work down the right wing set up Newton with a header on 35 but it went wide and three minutes later the same player chipped wide from the edge of the area.
Davies struck over the target from 18 yards and The Lambs continued to press at the end of the half through Briscoe, shooting wide oft he LH upright.

After a flurry of substitutions Andy Morrell came onto the field and within 10 seconds had reduced the arrears.

Fenton, Mills and Lane all went close but not close enough in the final minutes and the game ended with the win to Rangers by the odd goal in three.
