Just what the doctor ordered

FT: Hyde FC 0    3 Tamworth

25 January 2014The Lambs made the journey to Manchester to face Hyde despite the intentions of the British weather that forced numerous pitch inspections until as late as 2pm.
Boss Belford made three changes to the side that was defeated by a solitary freekick by Cambridge in midweek with Waldon making his full debut and Courtney and Capaldi returning to the side after injury as Evans took a place on the bench and Richards-Everton and Hildreth sat the game out.
Hyde got the game underway, kicking from right to left (from the press box) and although The Lambs got a 5th minute corner which Kettings collected at height, the home side enjoyed more of the play in the first ten minutes and forced the Tamworth defence to battle hard at the back.
Belford was forced to bat away a hefty cross from the left on 5 but as the tenth minute ticked round Tamworth took the lead through Peniket following a cross from Haworth on the right which Chadwick's tried to fire home but effort from a yard out after the keeper blocked the shot. (1-0, 10 mins)
With partial blue skies over one side of the pitch and rain filled grey ones on the other, both sides struggled to get the ball down as the wind whipped around.
A home freekick was watched out past the near post on 23 and Carlton lifted a hopeful effort high over the cross baron25 as the Tigers tried to roar back into the game.
Haworth sent a fine ball into the box from the right channel and Chadwick met it with his head but he'd strayed just too far and the offside flag denied Waldon completing the move with a finish from 8 yards,
Chadwick's ball into Waldon on 32 allowed the latter to try and flick a header over Kettings, but he put too much on it and the keeper watched it over the bar.
A glorious chance fell to Hughes on 35 when Brown burst through and square the ball but it lifted in the air and the resulting shot which should have been into an empty net was off target.
A couple of yellow cards were handed out by the referee before Capaldi had to leave the field and be replaced by Evans.
Two minutes added time came to an end with Chadwick denied by the offside flag.

The Lambs got the second half underway but Hyde quickly won a corner on the right when Poole tried a cross.
Poole was yellow carded on 50 for tripping Thomas as the all ran back to Belford and the rain started again.
Haworth required treatment on the right calf a couple of minutes later and had to be replaced by Richards on 55 and it was the striker who had the next chance of the game, after a good strong run by Peniket own the left, Richards was able to turn and get a low shot at goal from 12 yards but it was straight at Kettings.
Five minutes later Richards made it 2-0 after the home keeper messed up a ball into the area and allowed the striker to fire home from 8 yards out. (2-0, 60 mins)
Blakeman struck a sweet freekick from fully 30 yards on 68 which zipped over the Lambs cross bar and on 74Kiwanda forced Belford to drop and push the ball away from his near post.
A superb double save from Belford from two stinging Blakeman shots on 76 but Chadwick added a third goal on 77 with a long range right footed effort that Kettings couldn't stop. (3-0, 77 mins)
And after final push by both sides and three minutes added time, The Lambs celebrated a much needed three point haul.
