Point made at Sincil Bank

FT: Lincoln City 0    0 Tamworth

08 October 2013

Following the victory over Macclesfield at the weekend there were no real surprises that Lambs boss Dale Belford made no changes to the selected sixteen that lined up at Sincil Bank where former Lambs Nick Wright started and Jake Sheridan was included in the squad for the home side who were pushing for a play-off place.
The Lambs got the game underway, kicking away from the away end towards an empty Stacy West stand at the opposite end to the 20 or so Lambs fans.
Elford-Alliyu and Baker tried early shots from the edge of the box and while the first was blocked, the latter made keeper Farman gather at chest height.
A corner was forthcoming on 8 ad headed away but the pressure continued to be applied until the home side could clear their lines.
Richards-Evetron was forced to deal with the run of Wright on 10 while at the other end Todd wrapped his foot around a ball from the right wing and forced Farman to save low down.
Todd's through ball nearly found Peniket when the Imps defence faltered but Farmam was first to it and Lincoln pushed on to win a corner on the right on 12.
the ball was half cleared then dinked back in to Tomlinson, but his shot on the turn on the left of the box hit the top of the stand.
Nolan found Miller with a fine threaded pass on 14 and forced Belford into a good block at his left hand post in the first real threat by the home side.
Elford-Alliyu the tried his luck with a right footed strike from distance on 16 which curled wide of the mark and both he and Baker were unable to get a clean shot away as they continued to push forwards against a stubborn home defence.
After supplying a good left wing cross a few seconds previously, Jordan picked up a yellow card for a foul on Baker as The Lambs attacked and Kerry nearly found Richards-Everton with his ball into the box on 26.
Injury to Power caused a stoppage in play on 28 and both sides continued to work hard but not really threaten either keeper too much with The Lambs holding the balance of play.
A left sided corner came from a long throw on 37 and Elford-Alliyu picked up the loose ball but couldn't get power behind his shot which Peniket followed in although Farman had it covered.
Kerry then picked up a yellow card for a thumping challenge on Foster and still both goalkeepers had little to do while their teammates tried to play a passing game.
A long throw from Capaldi was cut out at the last second and when the ball came back in Farman was quickest out to mop of the danger again.
A rare shot from Newton down the left channel went well wide of the mark on 45 and two minutes added time as shown.

Lincoln got the second half underway and the Lambs fans behind the goal were hoping that Brown would mess up his clearance with Peniket bearing down but it was Belford that sliced the ball behind for a corner after Farman has booted it long down field.
The left sided corner was punched clear by Belford and then Jordan's cross headed away by Todd and the resultant shot was not worthy of too much comment, but The Imps had come out with a more attacking attitude.
On 51 Kerry threaded a low ball through the home defence into the right of the box and Elford-Alliyu advanced to strike it right footed but found the side netting.
On 56, a similar ball from Todd was knocked behind by the home defence and from the corner Richards-Everton's header was tipped over the bar by Farman and two more corners were forced but the offside flag put an end to a possible Todd finish.
Lincoln replaced Wright just short of the hour but the substitution didn't affect the play too much and on 62 Capaldi tried his luck with a freekick from distance but Farman was equal to it.
On 64 Belford came out to punch a high ball clear but completely missed it and thankfully Evans cleared the goal bound shot from Foster away from danger.
Tomlinson picked up a yellow card for a foul on Courtney just past the half way line on 67 and the home side pushed on with Jordan and Miller causing problems at the back which were dealt with, before Harris replaced Kerry in midfield.
Richards-Everton made a well timed tackle to deny the run of Tomlinson as the home side enjoyed more of the ball and a corner from sustained pressure on 75.
Another well timed tackle from Richards-Everton gave the Imps a corner on 77 rather than penalty that the home faithful called for.
The ball made its way briefly to Farman's end of the pitch around 80 but there was no rest for the Lambs defence as Lincoln worked to get the ball back into the final third again and a push on Courtney as he shielded the ball from Fairhurst did give his side a brief moment to gather their thoughts.
Elford-Alliyu made way for Woolery on 83 and a foul on Peniket on the left wing gave Evans the deadball level with the edge of the box but his freekick was hit the wall before being cleared.
The Imps counter attacked through Farman and a foul on Fairhurst down the Lincoln left meant that The Lambs were forced to defend as Dixon hooked the ball over the bar via a save from Belford and the corner was scrambled away.
Miller received a yellow card for a clash with Woolery on the half way line shortly before 4 minutes added time was shown.
The referee then was forced to sort out a case of a case of handbags and booked Woolery, for his initial challenge on Farman, after the dust had settled.
Peniket's eagerness to get the ball off the keeper as he tried to kick it clear earned him a booking as the time ticked into the fifth minute of time added on but there was no last minute winner from either side and the points were shared.
