Trialists and youth fall at Royals
08 August 2006 Lambs boss Mark Cooper rested virtually his enitre first team squad at Coles Lane on Tuesday night running the rule over a number of youth and trialists.
Along side Cooper and Richard Dryden only squad members Alan Neilson and James Dormand played the full 90 minutes while Matt Williams made a welcome return in the first half.
Tamworth took the lead on 24 through Matt Brown but succumbed to poor defending to allow Lucan Spittle the equaliser 2 minutes later.
After half time the game was nothing much to write home about with both sides struggling to create although Chris Evans went close early on.
In the final 5 minutes Liam Hebbered and a Chris Hughes brace gave the Dr Martens side the pre-season victory with well taken strikes, albeit against a lacking Lambs defence.
