Goalless draw at the Moat Ground

FT: Gresley Rovers 0    0 Tamworth

02 August 2005

Gresely and Tamworth failed to hit the back of the net in The Lambs penultimate pre-season friendly but Tamworth had the best of the chances in the first half.

Tris could have score a hatful!Tris Whitman was the main source fo Lambs ammunition firing wide no less than six times and had the goal posts been a few feet to the right he would have had chalked up a cricket score by the break! Hugh McAuley forced ex Lambs 'keeper Gavin Saxby to pull off a fine stop just before the half time interval.
Another ex Lamb Tony Hemmings ran out for the home side but went off injured midway through the first period.

The second half saw a much changed Tamworth line up, including boss Mark Cooper at full back, and Karl Rose made a rare appearance at right back for the closing stages.
Bob Taylor was a constant menace to the home defence but the game seemed destined to end goal free.
