Brewers take New Year cheer

FT: Tamworth 0    2 Burton Albion

01 January 2005

Burton Albion left the Lamb with all three points in the New Years Day encounter at the Lamb.

Lambs boss Mark Cooper said "They seemed to want it more than us, which is a little worrying"

Craig Dudley produced a 40 yard run down the right wing for Burton's first on 35 minutes. His pin point cross was met by Jon Shaw.

In first half stoppage time a catastrophic goal keeping error by Ryan Price lead to Burton's second when his half cleared kick fell to Kris Taylor who fired into an empty net from 30 yards.

Despite a workman-like second half performance Tamworth could find no way back into the game with the wind and rain not helping matters.
