Lambs send Dynamo spinning out of the cup

FT: Loughborough Dynamo 0    3 Tamworth

21 September 2019

The Lambs travelled the short distance to face Northern League South Eastern, side Loughborough Dynamo, one league below Tamworth, in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round with £6,750 prize money on offer.

The home side got the game underway in glorious sunshine attacking the clubhouse end of the ground in the first half.
Tamworth took the lead on 8 after Obeng was brought down by Foster as he took the ball in the area and a penalty was awarded which Beswick fired past Alexander in the Dynamo goal.
The home side responded to the goal positively and Norcross found himself in space on the edge of the box on 13 but lifted his curling effort over the bar into the fans seated behind Singh.
A strike by Dynamo captain Norris curled agonisingly wide of the mark on 22 and Magunda played Singh into trouble on 23 but the keeper recovered and the ball was cleared.
Rowe-Turner was booked for a challenge on Norris a minute later and the home side continued to push Tamworth back into their own half.
At Singh’s end of the pitch The Lambs defence were keeping themselves busy with some mistimed passes and hefty clearances then on 34, Kaziboni’s cross looking for Waite was headed behind for a corner but Kaziboni’s header went back to Alexander.
Obeng was brought down on the left wing on 38 and when the ball went out of play a bout of handbags ensued on the touchline involving most of both teams, giving neither club much to be proud about, and after a long deliberation Beswick, Magunda and Alenxder were all booked and Creaney replaced Obeng.
Magunda was slow to clear his lines in added time and the ball eventually came to Riley but his shot was blocked by Rowe-Turner.
The ball then came across the box and Magunda was caught allowing Steadman to strike from 20 yards and Singh pushed it onto the post before Gough cleared his lines.
Norcross then made a mazy run into the box and tested Singh but the shot was always going wide, in the last action of the first half.

Tamworth restarted proceedings and in the 47th minute Waite burst into the box and was brought down by Sibson and Bewsick stepped up and slotted the penalty home for his second of the game (2-0, 47 mins).
Kaziboni made a surging run in the next move and nearly sent his diagonal finish past Alexander to make it 3-0 on 48 but it rolled agonisingly wide of the mark.
On 57 flowing Lambs movement on the right ended with Fry setting up Clement with a strike from 25 yards which was easy enough for Alexander to take to his left.
Clement and then Creaney tried their luck around the hour mark, but neither tested the keeper. on 68 Waite made headway into the final third and instead of setting up Creaney went for goal himself but screwed his shot wide of the mark.
A deflected shot from Foster ballooned up and forced Singh to dive to save it on 68 and after a drinks break Forde replaced Clement.
A deep cross form Gough forced Alaexander to spill the ball under pressure from Creaney on 73 and Bewick’s corner and although that was cleared, the ball went back to Forde who slotted it through to Hoenes down the left of the box and he slipped it under the keeper. (3-0, 75 mins)
Forde did well to get the ball down and past his marker on 81 but his shot bounced wide and Hoenes worked equally as hard to force a corner on 83.
Creaney hit a bouncing shot a foot past the far post on 85 and then forced Alexender to block his shot but blazed the rebound high over the target.
Four minutes added time was shown at the end of the half and after some good skill by Hoenes his shot let him down.
Creaney then flicked it on for Hoenes but the keeper prevented him from adding another before the final whistle blew to send The Lambs through to the 3rd Qualifying Round.
