Royston Town Preview

Thursday Apr 4, 2019

The Lambs make the 104 mile trip along the A14 to North Hertfordshire this Saturday to take on Royston Town in The Southern League Central Division.

Royston sit comfortably in 9th place in the league on 55 points, an unlikely 10 points and 4 positions away from a playoff spot. This is three places and seven points ahead of The Lambs.

This makes the home team favourites at 11/10, the draw 13/5 and The Lambs 9/5.

Promo codes for football currently have great deals.

Royston come into the game in great form. They won 3-2 at Coalville on Tuesday with a last minute winner to give them their 7th win in their last 9 games and 22 points from a possible 30 since the start of February.

At home Royston have managed 24 points from their 18 matches, scoring 30 goals and conceding 27, so goals look a certainty this weekend!!

Tamworth also have shown great form in the last couple of months, managing 20 points from a possible 30 since February, despite a disappointing home defeat last time out against Lowestoft.

Bosses Gary and Andrew will be looking to address recent away form and gain some consistency as The Lambs have won 2, drawn 1 and lost 2 of their last 5 games away from The CR MOT Community Stadium. Over the whole season Tamworth have a decent return of 25 points from 18 away matches, scoring 24 and conceding 19 goals. This is better than the home form for the season.

Back in September Royston managed a 2-1 victory against Tamworth at The Lamb with a late winning goal in Dennis Greene’s first game in charge.

This Saturday’s tie looks to be an exciting fixture with both teams in good form and both teams scoring plenty of goals. Selecting a victor will be difficult.
