Community Shield this Sunday.

Saturday Aug 3, 2019

Liverpool v Manchester City – Is this a preview of the top two for the coming season.

The traditional final pre-season match takes place at Wembley this Sunday when last seasons League winners take on the FA Cup winners. As Manchester City won both, they take on league runners up Liverpool. As there is still a week to go until the start of the season you can look at new zealand online gambling in the mean time.

Will this match be an indication of things to come this season, can you take anything from the game to gain an insight as to who should be favourites for the title and who else can crash the party. Will it be a two horse race as per last year or will another team join the title race.

These two rivals are substantially the two favourites to win the league, well ahead of any other team. Manchester City are 1/2 to retain the title and Liverpool are 13/5. Tottenham are next in the betting at a large 16/1.

Although silverware is at stake on Sunday, both teams will be viewing this match as a final friendly to get their respective teams into shape and fine tune the tactics for the Premier League which starts the following weekend. Manchester City are favourites for the match at 10/11 and Liverpool are 14/5 with the draw 11/4. This is just down to pre-season form and the fact Manchester City dominated English Football with the domestic treble last season, bagging the Carling Cup, FA Cup and Premier League titles.

The bookies and pundits both believe it will be these two rivals gunning for the league again. However, who else could crash this party? Tottenham could improve as they are now in their brand new stadium and have not really lost any players from last season, and hope to add some signings before the transfer deadline at the end of August.

Chelsea, under new manager and club legend, Frank Lampard, are under a transfer embargo but could use their very strong youth structure to improve.

Manchester United will spend big to try and get on terms with the Manchester rivals, but start from a low position.
Arsenal seem to be building slowly but currently are off the pace and have several areas of weakness, most notably their defence. Selecting that team that will take the jump is not easy so you can look at how to win sports betting to help.

So, it does look like it will be another similar season to last, with a two horse race. Will Liverpool go one better or will Manchester City start to become a domestic dynasty under the guidance of Pep???
