Des's long career started back in 1990 at Leicester City before he was released and joined Worcester City. He then moved to Swansea for £12,500 and from there teamed up with Frank Clark at Nott'm Forest winning promotion to the Premiership in the process. When Forest were relegated some seasons later Des moved on to Watford, on loan at West Brom, spent a season at Northampton and then Forest Green Rovers before returning to Worcester City as captain from where he joined The Lambs in the 2007-08 close season.
