Squad used free Saturday to engage with local community!
Although there was no first team fixture on Saturday, the player and staff still had a busy day. After a morning training session, the afternoon was spent visiting local care homes within the town, and spending time with some of the residents.
The players were divided into four groups, with Bonehill Lodge, Sunningdale, Meadowyrthe, and Evergreen House (pictured above with Andy Morrell, Ellis Deeney, Danny Newton, Stephan Morley, along with staff and residents) the venues for the visits on this occasion. Players delivered gifts, spent time chatting, and learned about the vital work that the care homes do.
The community aspect of the club is certainly something that we are looking to expand throughout 2017, with further details of this soon to be released in the new Tamworth Football Club Strategic Plan.
Many thanks to Teresa Whitehouse, Brian Whitehouse, and Emma Longdon for organising and assisting with the visits.
