Firstly, many thanks for your interest in the Tamworth Youth Development Academy. The response has been magnificent and we are all looking forward to seeing local kids trial on The Lamb for their local Club! It seems that this has really caught the imagination of the local football community. Due to the popularity of the trials, we have decided to split the age groups and extend the length of the trial to give every player the best opportunity to impress and showcase themselves. As such please see the below changes…

U9’s & U10’s – 4.15 prompt for registration ahead of a 4.45 start, finish 5.45 U11’s – 5.15 prompt for registration ahead of a 5.45 start, finish at 6.45 We apologise if this causes any inconvenience but simply couldn’t fit 100+ players on the pitch at one time! I would also like to take this opportunity to remind all players to come in appropriate attire (training kit)and bring boots, shin pads, a drink and warm clothes for when they are resting/waiting for a game. Parents are welcome to stay and watch during the trial, but please refrain from communicating with players across the pitch as we need to assess the competency of each player on their own. Mike Fowler, Tamworth Assistant Manager (and owner of Mike Fowler Elite Soccer Skills, South Wales) will be organising proceedings on the day, with the help of our Coach/Analyst Dan Ferrar, First Team Physio Kieran Berry and First Team players Rob Purdie, Sean Wilkins, Kevin Thornton and Connor Taylor. From each age group we will be looking to select a small number of elite performers to train and represent Tamworth FC in two pre-arranged fixtures this season, thus implementing Step 1 of our overall Academy Development Plan. For those successful players, there will be a presentation to explain our project in more detail and how it will work. Many thanks again and good luck, Andy
