Purdie praises players 20/09/2014

The Lambs, playing their first game under caretaker manager Rob Purdie and assistant Paul Green came back from a goal down at home to Colwyn Bay to record a point this afternoon and Purdie, the 31 year old defender who combines time at The Lamb coaching youth players in Hereford couldn't praise the squad enough.

'After a difficult week the dressing room could have gone either way," Purdie said after the final whistle had blown, 'but the spirit has been and continues to be excellent from everyone in the squad. Although everyone has said they had been giving their all I saw more from them this afternoon - 100% rather than perhaps 80% and I think a win would have been just reward for the hard work.'

Villa v Man City at Lamb 17/09/2014

Tonight the under 15 teams of Aston Villa and Manchester City are playing a friendly fixture at the Lamb, kick off 6.30pm. There is no admission with entry via gate 2a only. The bar and tea bar are both open so why not enjoy the evening sun and pop along to watch the possible stars of the future.

Caretaker bosses announced 16/09/2014

We can confirm that Rob Purdie, assisted by Paul Green, will take hold of the reins for the short term while The Lambs board of directors make their decision on Dale Belford's successor.
Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald spoke to Chairman Bob Andrews earlier today - click here for the story on the newspaper's own website.

The team trained at The Lamb this evening, without George Grayson or Lee Hildreth who have both been released.

The Birmingham Senior Cup tie away at Hednesford has been scheduled for Tuesday October 14, 7.45pm kick off.

Press Release 15/09/2014

This evening Tamworth FC and Manager Dale Belford have parted company.
It was an amicable decision with Chairman Bob Andrews thanking Dale for his efforts on behalf of the Football Club and he wished Dale every success in the future.
Dale Belford went on to place on record his thanks to the Chairman and the Board of Directors for giving him the opportunity to manage the Lambs and it has been an experience that he enjoyed immensely.
Dale also wanted to thank all of the players as they have always given him 100% and he certainly will be back down the Lamb in the near future to see everyone.
Any further information regarding the Managers position will be released via a press release and via the Lambs usual media outlets as and when news becomes available.

Lambs are pleased to announce that local business EES Solutions have become the away shirt back of shirt sponsors and are also backing the Junior Lamb scheme. All new and existing Junior Lamb Season ticket holders will get a £10 discount voucher off Junior purchases in the shop on sales £25 or over. This means they can get a new junior shirt for £15. The voucher is not exchangeable and is  for the season ticket holder use only on non vat items (ie children wear).

The Lambs do no longer run an Academy at South Staffs College, a Reserve team or have any Youth sides at any age group so please do not write or e-mail for a trial unless we request for them to be sent in the future if there is any change to the set up regarding sides under the First Team
